Harvey Group PLC Charity Golf Event at Edenmore Golf Club: Photography, Videography and Drone Coverage
As a professional event photographer in Northern Ireland, I always enjoy capturing events that bring people together for a worthwhile cause. I was delighted to be invited by Harvey Group PLC to provide photography and drone photography coverage of their annual charity golf event at the beautiful Edenmore Golf Club.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear this was going to be a fantastic day. The course looked superb, the weather played its part, and there was a real sense of camaraderie among everyone taking part. By the end of the event, I’d certainly got my Steps in walking the fairways in search of the perfect shot!
Capturing the Day Through Photography and Aerial Images
Charity golf events present a unique opportunity to tell a story through photography. Beyond simply documenting the action on the course, my goal is always to capture the atmosphere, personalities, and moments that make each event memorable.
Throughout the day, I photographed:
- Players in action across the course
- Team and group photographs
- Sponsors and event supporters
- Prize presentations and networking moments
- Candid interactions between participants
- Stunning aerial views captured using a drone
One of the highlights was photographing Edenmore Golf Club from the air. Drone photography provides a perspective that simply cannot be achieved from ground level, revealing the layout of the course and showcasing its picturesque surroundings. Aerial images add enormous value for event organisers looking to promote future golf days and fundraising events.
Supporting Northern Ireland Hospice
The event raised funds for Northern Ireland Hospice, an organisation that provides vital specialist care and support for individuals and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
It was inspiring to see so many businesses and individuals giving their time and support to help such an important cause. Events like these demonstrate how corporate fundraising can make a genuine difference while also creating opportunities for teams, clients, and partners to connect outside of the workplace.
Meeting Craig Gilroy
A particular pleasure was meeting former Ulster and Ireland rugby player Craig Gilroy, who attended the event as an ambassador for Northern Ireland Hospice.
Craig spent time with participants throughout the day and was clearly enjoying himself on the course. It was great to capture some photographs of him engaging with players and supporting the fundraising efforts.
Why Professional Photography Matters for Charity Golf Events
A well-organised charity golf day requires a significant investment of time, planning, and resources. Professional photography ensures those efforts continue to deliver value long after the final putt has been made.
High-quality event photography can be used for:
Company websites
Social media marketing
Press releases
Annual reports
Future event promotion
Sponsor recognition
Internal communications
Drone photography adds an additional layer of visual impact, helping organisations showcase the scale and success of their events from a completely different perspective.
